If I were to be allowed to take only one item with me to a desert island, it would be chocolate. And then I had smuggled my toothbrush with me quietly and hoped for the best
This brownies what I prefer in taste and texture. I simply love it <3
I hope you will bake this brownie and that you will love it as much as I do. But you must have a soft spot for the dark and slightly bitter taste of chocolate.
Ready?
- 4.4 fl oz (1.3 dl) boiling water
- 1.3 oz (40 gr) cocoa powder, I used VanHouten
- 1.5 tsp espresso powder
- 1.7 oz (70 gr) melted butter
- 12 fl oz (3.5 dl) canola oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Ib (450 gr) sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 8.6 oz (270 gr) flour
- 8 oz (225 gr) semi sweetz (56%) chocolate
Chop the chocolate into large chunks, so they do not completely melt during baking.
Put the chocolate in a spaghetti strainer and strain the smaller pieces into the mixing bowl. Put the large pieces into separat bowl and set aside.
Poure also in the salt, espresso powder and cocoa powder inthe mixing bowl.
Add the boiling water and stire until smooth.
Add the melted butter and canola oil and mix well.
Whip in the eggs and egg yolk. If you useing vanilla extract, poure it in tor the mixture . If useing the vanilla sugar, blend it in with the flour later on.
Now it`s time to add the sugar and mix well. This batter is so easy to make and it is almost done already.
Sieve the flour and fold in with a spatula. Try not to over work the batter at this stage by mixing to mush or to long .
It`s time to add some more goodies. Mix gently in the chocolate chunks.
Line a 9″ x 13″ sheet pan using baking paper and pour in batter. Try to go devide the chocolate chunks evenly in the pan.
Bake in bottom position of oven at 350 F (180 C) degrees for 25 – 30 minutes.
This cake is a bit tricky to test for dunnes by sticking a in a tester pin. But incert the tester about 2 » (5 cm) from the edge, and it will come out with some crumbes atached to the stick. The center of the cake will apair pretty gooie. It is not because the brownie is too raw but because the chocolate chunks are melted.
Let the brownie cool in the pan for 1 to 2 hours before cutting into pieces.
I hope it grow strawberries on my desert island, because it tastes divine beside chocolate
