Cake No. 4!
Summer is a wonderful time. It inspired me to make a cake with items from our Nordic midsummer night celebration.
Midsummer night in scandinavia!
The girls bind wild flower wreats and wear in their hair, while dansing around the big midsummer bonfire. If she put a wild flower under her pillow that night, she will dream of her love to be.
The same night all the witches fly to Bloksberg on the brooms. Midsummer night is the only night during the hole year that Bloksberg is open. There they dance all night long while the devil plays his violin.
That is the story behind my midsummer cake !
This cake is just a project for practicing, so I shared with my friends, family and neighbours
To make the witch I used a patchwork cutter, and built up several layers to make the effects. The clover flowers and bluebells are made freehand … while daisies and buttercup are cut using a cookie cutter and shaped further by hand.
I was really satisfied with the finish result, and one of the reasons for that was that I made a plan / idea and sticked to it from beginning to the end.
Cake No. 6 !
This is my first decorated cake I made for a «customer».
My mother wanted to donate a cake to my niece Sweet Sixteen birthday party.
She was very happy and surprised for reciving this cake.
All the decorations and cover are made of marzipan.
I stumbled into some trouble when I was trying making straight and neat corners for the first time, so the result was not very good. But all in all I think the cake turned out very nice!
Cake No 7 !
Cake No. 7:
A good friend of mine has become has Grandma and wanted me to make the cake for christening. What a honor!
I had so many ideas for a cake and I added several of them in this cake. I think turned out great and funny! I think the job to cover a square cake, went better this time, and I am satisfied with the results even though the coverr could have been even smoother.
Decorations and roses are all made of marzipan.
This cake was a big project but really fun to make from start to finish.
Du lager så nydelige blomster;);)
Tusen takk, Sara 🙂
