There is no problem to dip the cupcake with icing in melted chocolate. Make the swirl on eash cupcake and put them  in the refrigerator a few hours to set, before dipping them in chocolate.

Today I made plain chocolate cupcakes with no extra filling inside.
You can just use your imagination and create the cupcake combinations you want.

The recipe is for 24 pcs:

A portion of Angel Feather Icing

Then I piped a little «soft ice» swirl on eash cupcake,  and put them in the refrigerator a couple hours.

Melted dipping chocolate :

  • 7 oz (200 grams) chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Chop the chocolate and melt half of it in a double boiler. Add  the butter and let it melt in the chocolate .

Take the bowl away from the hot water and melt the remaining chocolate.

I think the chocolate is now at theright temperature. Is it too thick, put the bowl briefly above the hot water gor a few minutes.
Take the cupcakes straight from the fridge and give them a quick dip in the chocolate.
It is ok  to held them upside down, so the excess chocolate drip off.

Put the them quickly back of the refrigerator to cool the chocolate.
